For the holidays, IDI Evolution has decided to promote a solidarity chain to help those who cannot afford adequate dental care.

The recent 2023 RBM Censis report confirmed that 65% of people in Italy don't go to the dentist for financial reasons. According to the data, the situation has worsened significantly since the pandemic.

In fact, families spent 14% less in 2022 than in 2018, an alarming result considering that in Italy alone, 36% of children suffer from tooth decay in their primary teeth, a percentage that drops only slightly among adults (29.6%). Furthermore, in Italy, the average annual expenditure on oral hygiene amounts to approximately €9.5 billion, and the national healthcare system covers only 5% of this amount. These considerations also informed IDI Evolution's desire to contribute to Italians by giving a hundred smiles this Christmas.

IDI has decided to involve 100 dentists across Italy, having them each choose a clinical case—a patient to restore their smile. The selection will favor less well-off patients, and all cases will be performed pro-bono: the dentist will offer their expertise, and IDI Evolution will provide technological and digital support for the procedures.

IDI's support will come through the free supply of 100 BlackBoxes, which will be turned red for Christmas, becoming Red Boxes, whose contents include the components needed to complete a guided surgery clinical case.
Andrea Piantoni, chief innovation officer of IDI Evolution, explains: "This Christmas, together with our customers who have joined the initiative, we have decided to donate 100 smiles to people who can't afford them.

We will contribute with all the implant-prosthetic components, digital design consultancy, and dental finalization, while the dentists will donate their services." The clinical cases will be selected by individual professionals between December 2023 and January 2024, and the necessary Red Boxes will subsequently be produced.
