Andrea's teeth were ruined by drug abuse, but at 32, he's finding a new lease on life. The initiative was launched thanks to a call to action on Luca Casadei's podcast "One More Time."
IDI Evolution and the Righi-Elia Clinic have joined a special journey, offering their dental expertise to restore Andrea Alongi's smile. In January 2025, Alongi's interview on Luca Casadei's podcast, One More Time, kicked off an extraordinary journey during which Alongi had the opportunity to share his story in his own words for the first time: at 32, he has radically changed his life to rebuild a different reality, with clear goals and priorities.
It's during the interview that Andrea expresses one of his greatest desires: to be able to smile without shame. His teeth were unfortunately ruined by substance abuse. Thus began the collaboration for Andrea's recovery, involving One More Time, IDI Evolution, and the Righi-Elia Clinic in Parma, which uses IDI Evolution technology to perform minimally invasive surgery and cutting-edge treatments.
IDI Evolution and Poliambulatorio Righi-Elia have chosen to offer their services free of charge to help Andrea realize his dream, with a comprehensive dental care program. Specifically, Dr. Davide Righi, Dr. Marco Elia, and the entire staff will support Andrea, providing their professional expertise in the field.
IDI Evolution will provide all the implant-prosthetic components and manufacturing support to address every stage of treatment. IDI has previously undertaken similar initiatives, such as Red Box, a project launched in December 2023. In this project, the company, along with 100 practices it collaborates with, has chosen to provide implant-prosthetic components combined with the expertise of individual professionals for complex cases to be handled pro-bono, supporting less well-off individuals.
IDI Evolution stands out in Italy for the innovation and digitalization it is helping to bring to the dentistry and implant-prosthetics sector. For this reason, the iTero™ Lumina oral cavity scanner and the DENTALEYEPAD camera were used right from the first visit. A treatment plan was then developed, which will continue over the coming months, all to the benefit of Alongi, with cutting-edge technologies: the Alfred management system for supporting and managing clinical and extra-clinical activities shared with the patient; the Rayface 3D facial scanner; and Itaka, for accurate 4D movement scans.
Andrea Piantoni, CEO of IDI Evolution, said, "When we saw the episode of One More Time featuring Andrea Alongi, we immediately thought, 'Why not?' Our mission is to bring smiles, and we produce increasingly advanced proprietary technologies to do just that." He concluded, "With the Red Box initiative, we've been helping people in need for two years, providing free dental care wherever possible. Our goal is to provide patients with close support and increasingly cutting-edge solutions, diversifying every treatment plan. We're proud to be part of this new charity project alongside Dr. Righi and to have met such a tenacious person as Andrea."
Davide Righi, dentist and one of the founding partners of the Righi-Elia Dental Clinic, along with Dr. Marco Elia, added, "Every effort we make is directed toward the well-being of the patient, regardless of their starting point. We care that those who come to our practice feel welcomed, satisfied with their journey, and happy with their smile. So we chose to take Andrea by the hand and help him rebuild not only his teeth, but also his self-confidence. The journey will be a challenge, guided by the professionalism and care of our staff. We are confident that by combining our skills with those of IDI Evolution, we will be able to work together to give Andrea back the smile he deserves."
