THE VIRTUAL PATIENT OF THE FUTURE IS NOW PRESENT
Edited by Dr. Paolo Arosio, PhD, and Dr. Matteo Sartori, PhD
Over the past two years of intense activity and presence, IDI EVOLUTION's Innovation Observatory has enthusiastically shared its vision with all Odontoiatria 33 readers: to be an inspiration and point of reference for the Dentists of the Future.
IDI EVOLUTION has catalyzed around its brain, the artificial intelligence platform for the management of the ALFRED dental practice, a digital workflow that, through processes based on Lean Thinking, allows the clinician to collect, analyze and transform all information relating to their patients into clinical suggestions: the result is the Virtual Digital Patient.
The column showcased cutting-edge technologies and services such as RayFace , Itaka , Chaise Longue Side , and B1ONE, the first implant designed for digital implant-prosthetics. It also featured international partners such as 3Shape, Kuraray Noritake, RealGuide, and case studies demonstrating the application of these technologies to daily clinical practice. Particular attention was paid to the importance of a comprehensive view of the patient in every aspect, benefiting from the information collected and organized by the digital workflow: photography, radiology, intraoral scanning, movement and facial scanning, all the way up to 3D printing of the prosthetic device. In this way, the multiple benefits of planning and performing guided surgery were highlighted, giving clinical value to the cornerstone of a biomechanically sustainable implant-prosthetic project to ensure medium- and long-term success.
We are coming to the conclusion of the first phase of this exciting column and we turn to a Thank you to all the professionals who participated in this scientific journey and path together with us: Dr. Federico Arosio , Dr. Luca Banfi , Dr. Roberto Maria Cristofanini , Dr. Massimo Fagnani , Dr. Alessandro Galluzzi , Dr. Giovanni Battista Mezzena , Dr. Alessandro Minniti , Dr. Maurizio Monaco , Dr. Vincenzo La Scala .
Looking to the future, the Innovation Observatory will continue on Odontoiatria 33 in 2024, but will take on a new, more innovative form, on a media platform that moves at the speed of today, and will tell the stories of the people who are revolutionizing dentistry.
See you in the future!
