Behind the complex shapes that surround us lies a natural order governed by the laws of fractal geometry, a science applicable to countless phenomena, from the smallest to the largest, from molecular structures to galaxies, from the shape of plants to that of coral reefs. Thanks to fractal geometry, it is also possible to study the complexity of some human organs, including bones. Despite this, however, all dental implants have until now been designed solely on the basis of clinical and engineering studies, without following the morphology of bone tissue .
The recent application of fractal geometry to implantology has confirmed a previously recognized finding in scientific literature—the existence of three bone types based on drilling hardness—and has also revealed the mathematical proportions of bone morphology itself. Patented software has broken down the bone's geometric structure into fractal patterns (bone DE-coding) and used them to design implant threads (implant En-coding). This led to the creation of B1ONE, a new concept in a two-stage implant, with an intracoronal connection and three different threads designed based on bone categories: high, medium, and low.
Both components of the new product (the connection and the threads) have been patented. The B1ONE intracoronal connection is the world's first to combine a Torx-type anti-rotational system with a cone for screw- and cement-retained prostheses. An additional integrated cone underneath allows for prosthetic paralleling of implants up to 15 degrees without the need for mesostructures such as intermediate conical bases. Furthermore, with the addition of the Link, it is possible to correct up to 50 degrees in total without occupying the available prosthetic volume. B1ONE moves up (step-up) connection with a modern conical profile inside the dental crown and leaves a concave cervical space for the stabilization of the supracrestal soft tissues: neck with Soft Tissue Stabilizer (STS) technology.
B1ONE can be considered a tailor-made implant: “ The implant line includes all diameters, but what makes me proud is the creation of the smallest and most resistant two-stage implant ever made on the market at an international level. Thanks to technologies and patents and by systematizing the most interesting innovations, the best titanium alloys, implant insertion and control processes, and the aid of implant planning software, we have taken a further evolutionary step ,” explains Andrea Piantoni , Chief Innovation Officer of IDI EVOLUTION.
As often happens, innovation was born from the need to solve critical issues. B1ONE is in fact the fruit of research and attention the latest clinical and biological concepts in implantology, combined with a careful consideration of prosthetic issues. The critical points in implant-prosthetic rehabilitation have become the strengths of the B1ONE system.
