The Board of Directors of IDI Evolution , an innovative Italian company in the dental and implant-prosthetic technology sector, has appointed Andrea Piantoni as the company's new CEO.
Andrea Piantoni, born in 1981 in Monza, attended the European School of Economics before officially joining IDI Evolution in 2005. From his first entry into the company, Piantoni learned every aspect of IDI's production and strategy, starting in the mechanical workshop, where he worked for three years, developing a deep understanding and passion for the functioning of implant and prosthetic systems. He subsequently served as a Sales Consultant, contributing to the building of IDI Evolution's solid sales network in Italy.
Even before taking on his current role as Chief Innovation Officer, Andrea Piantoni has consistently supported the IDI board with his ideas, contributing to the company's ongoing evolution of its highly innovative product and service offerings and resulting growth in both size and turnover, which in less than 15 years has grown from just over €1 million to an estimated €20 million in Italy by 2024.
Over time, the manager's vision has allowed IDI Evolution to expand its portfolio, which initially included just one product, the TMM2, by enriching it with numerous innovative technologies and patents, establishing IDI as a major player in the dental sector.
Retracing the milestone which mark Piantoni's contribution to the company, we remember in 2009 the introduction of the TMM2 to which the voice was added for the first time inside the surgical engine, a solution that made it the first of its kind, revolutionizing the way of performing implantology.
The Black Box , introduced in 2016, has since contributed to providing the technology for over 50,000 clinical cases in guided surgery. Patents include that of MAD - Micro Angle Detector , obtained in 2012; later in 2018 it was patented B1ONE , to which was later added the Link patent (the parallelization mesostructure), while the most recent are the data acquisition patent in Alfred and that of Plaque Detector .
Piantoni, second generation of IDI's founding family, has always prioritized IDI's innovative spirit: technological development at the heart of the company, identifying the best technologies suited to the digitalization of Italian dental practices. Since 2019, under his leadership as CIO, IDI Evolution has also increased investment in Research & Development, which Piantoni views as the key ingredients for the company's success, and which has allowed IDI's portfolio to become what it is today.
The board of directors of IDI Evolution, therefore, unanimously resolved to hand over the reins from Angelo Piantoni to Andrea Piantoni, considering his profile suitable to carry forward the company's mission and values, ensuring the development and execution of commercial and scientific strategies, which converge towards the objective of continuing the ongoing evolution and supporting Italian clinical trials to create a superior standard of quality and transparency for patients, precisely thanks to technology.
Angelo Piantoni , President of IDI Evolution, stated: “ I am pleased with the choice of the Board of Directors. Today we begin a new chapter for IDI Evolution by passing the baton to Andrea who, in almost 20 years of work within this company, has allowed IDI Evolution to be positioned as the most innovative company in the dental sector in Italy .”
Andrea Piantoni He added that he is " very honored and proud to take on this role at IDI Evolution, which I consider my family, and to continue the journey I began several years ago. I thank my father, Angelo, for having guided the company towards technological innovation from the very beginning and for having given all Italian clinicians the opportunity to benefit from the first free loan in our sector. IDI will continue to grow through innovation and the great work of a team that shares our company's values, and I thank them for their trust in me ."
