By actively investing in Research & Development, it has built an integrated ecosystem of technologies including digital ones with the aim of bringing about a tangible shift in the dental sector and improving the relationship between dentist and patient, placing the patient back at the center of the treatment process.

IDI Evolution, an Italian company that has been operating in the field of technological innovation in the dental sector for over twenty years, concluded 2025 with particularly positive results on the commercial front and, above all, in terms of innovation.

In 2025, in fact, IDI Evolution recorded sales of 21.6 million euros, representing a 40% increase compared to the previous year. Within the IDI ecosystem, the IDI RDL dental laboratory specializing in artistic finishing also achieved significant results, with revenue nearing 2 million euros, marking a 58% year-over-year increase.

This economic growth was accompanied by a significant internal organizational strengthening: 25 new employees were hired; the sales network across the peninsula was expanded, now comprising 48 professionals active nationwide; and finally, there was a 25% increase in new customers acquired compared to 2024.

This performance confirms the strength of IDI Evolution’s business model and the company’s ability to consolidate its presence in the Italian market.

Expanding the Scope of General Practitioners

IDI Evolution has announced the launch of a strategic partnership in Italy with Align Technology, a global leader in the medical device sector that designs, manufactures, and markets clear aligner systems, with the specific goal of supporting general dentists in integrating pre-prosthetic dental alignment as a standard phase in restorative treatment planning, rather than as a separate discipline.

The partnership combines Align’s comprehensive digital ecosystem with the clinical and laboratory expertise of IDI Makers to enable a simplified and predictable digital workflow that supports decision-making and the execution of restorative treatments. In this new synergistic approach, IDI Makers — IDI Evolution’s CAD-CAM laboratory — will play a key role in facilitating the exchange between clinical practice and technology, translating digital planning into clinically effective solutions aligned with treatment goals, and acting as a central hub between the dental practice and digital systems.

The result is a guided, integrated end-to-end process that enables dentists to improve clinical outcomes and enhance the final aesthetics of restorations, increasing the patient’s understanding of the proposed treatment plan while facilitating discussion and dialogue regarding the treatment plan.

Innovation and Intellectual Property: Two New Patents

2025 was a strategic year, particularly in terms of innovation. The OPENDENT Plaque Detector product received patent approval from the EPO (European Patent Office). The device, which enables the detection of dental plaque for home use, is now officially recognized throughout Europe, including Italy.

This European recognition represents a strategic step for the company and for patient protection. The technology makes it possible to visualize dental plaque in a simple and immediately understandable way, allowing for direct use without the intervention of a specialist and thus introducing a functional, accessible, and effective solution. The project has also received funding under the Lombardy Region’s PR FESR 2021-2027 Regional Program, drawn from the European Regional Development Fund.

On the implant front, a patent has also been filed for the ISA® (Infinity Seal Abutment) as a component of the B2TWO implant line, strengthening the company’s positioning in the high-tech segment.

A year of consolidation: Industrial evolution and corporate integration

Finally, the merger between IDI Evolution and IDI Makers was completed during the year, with the two companies merging into a single entity under the name IDI Evolution, with the aim of strengthening the company’s integration, efficiency, and production capacity. At the same time, significant structural investments were made, including the expansion of the IDI Makers department and a major upgrade of the IDI RDL laboratory, with the creation of a new ceramics room, now equipped with 26 workbenches dedicated to the artisanal finishing of prosthetic solutions, as well as upgrades to the milling, inspection, finishing, logistics, and warehouse departments.

“2025 was a pivotal year for IDI. The industrial development plan effectively supported commercial growth and the strengthening of our production capacity,” commented Andrea Piantoni (pictured), CEO of IDI Evolution, and concluded: “The results achieved confirm that the path we have taken—focused on technological innovation in products and services, and on patient-centered care—is the right way to continue growing and contributing to the evolution of the dental sector.”
